I don’t view sexual orientation or gender as immutable characteristics, so it’s possible that I was asexual once and now I’m not. It’s hard to admit that you’re asexual and even harder to admit that you were wrong - or rather, that your relationship to sexual attraction has changed significantly. It’s taken me a long time to understand that, and even longer to be able to say it in public.
